Drum Kit Assembly.

A lot of thought goes into purchasing a drum kit and whether to choose an acoustic or electronic setup, but maybe not so much thought goes into setting it up once your lovely new kit has been delivered.

Any drum kit bought whether an acoustic or electronic model will need a certain amount of setting up.

Starter drum kits and all electronic models need to be built from scratch. Acoustic models will need drumheads, tension rods, and rims fitted onto the drum shell itself, while electronic drum kits need the supplied rack assembled and the pads to be plugged in and positioned correctly.

This all sounds fairly straightforward but in reality, it can be a nightmare if you have limited knowledge of drums and time!

Setting up a drum kit correctly is very important as not only will you want to achieve the very best sound for an acoustic kit, but you’ll also want to make sure that the positioning is right for the person who is going to be playing.

We are called to correct many drum kit installations where we see cases of drums upside down or back to front, drumheads that have been fitted so tight that they have split almost immediately upon playing, or just simply bad positioning which leads to overstretching and strain, not good for any drummer.

Drum-Plan can do a professional drum kit installation for you, making sure that everything is perfectly positioned and the drums are sounding to their full potential.

As part of the installation, we will familiarise you with the drum kit and talk you through some of the issues that may occur over time through playing. Some of these issues can be easy to fix yourself through a small adjustment that we will make you aware of upon completion of setup.

Of course, we are always only an email away from helping you with any problem or upgrade that you may have or want to do in the future.

We can help you with drumhead (skins) replacement, tuning, sound reduction, and general issues or maintenance.
