Drum Kit Hire - Brook Farm Cuffley.

The first little shoots of spring are upon us and bookings for the summer, and in particular, weddings are flooding in so I thought what better time to reminisce about one we did last summer.

We had an email from Lauren who needed to hire a drum kit for her wedding which was being held at Brook Farm in Cuffley. This was a venue that we hadn’t been to before so we were excited to go and check it out and we weren’t disappointed!

Hertfordshire holds a very special place in my heart as it is the county where I was born so I always enjoy supplying drum kits to any events in the area.

It’s always lovely to discover new places and new venues and once I had the call regarding Brook Farm I did a bit of research to find out a little more about the venue.

Wow! it looked like a cool and quirky venue (right up my street!) and had amazing reviews - this was going to be fun!

Picturesque Is An Understatement.

Having turned off of the motorway and traveled down a few country roads I arrived at the entrance gate and I must admit I thought that I had come to the wrong place at first, then I saw the signage.

The actual wedding venue is set back a fair way from the main road and you have to go a good few hundred meters down a gravel track to access it, but my goodness it’s worth the wait.

Beautiful, well-kept grounds that had real charm and intrigue greeted me, and a lake that really stole the show!

The general gist of the venue is that you can erect a temporary structure of your choice be it a marquee or yurt for your big day. I rocked up to find a huge yurt tent that was almost fully decorated and prepared by the various traders involved.

The catering team had their own tent just outside where the food would be prepared before being whisked in by the very smart-dressed waiters and waitresses, whatever was on the menu smelt amazing!

The toilets were very plush considering they we portable. Every detail had been thought of and the sinks and fittings were as good as you would find in a top hotel, and as for the soap…..

Our Brief For The Day.

We needed to provide a five-piece drum kit for a Scottish band that had traveled down south to play at the reception in the evening.

The entertainment was being set up at the back of the yurt so space was fairly tight but nonetheless, I got the kit positioned nicely for the evening.

It was our Drum Workshop Performance Series kit that had been requested for the day and one of our cymbal packs that can be hired for an additional surcharge - in this case, a set of Sabian cymbals.

The kit was due to be picked up after the reception around midnight - a late-night collection can be arranged if needed.
